Mumbai Traffic Police Officer Goes Above and Beyond to Assist Lost Bag Owner: 13th May 2023

Lost Bag in Black and Yellow Taxi, found within few hours.

Good news comes in different forms, and for Mr. Zahid Hussain, a Mumbai Worli resident, it came in the form of a kind and helpful traffic constable. Mr. Zahid and his family were on their way to the Bandra Terminus on May 13th, 2023, to drop off his wife, children, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law, who were headed to Hussain Takri Jaora.

Unfortunately, they forgot a bag in the black and yellow taxi they were riding in, which contained Mr. Zahid's office laptop, office cash, and important documents.

Upon realizing their mistake, Mr. Zahid and his family were in a state of panic, unsure of what to do. It was then that Mr. Zahid spotted a traffic constable, Mr. Sagar Thakur, who is a Railway Traffic Police officer. Mr. Thakur helped Mr. Zahid step by step until he was able to retrieve his lost bag.

In an interview with Mr. Zahid, he stated that he was in a state of panic and didn't know what to do. He mentioned that the Bandra Terminus is the busiest station, and since they hadn't booked a cab through any online cab service provider, they didn't have any details of the taxi driver. For at least half an hour, Mr. Zahid was at a loss as to whom he could approach for help until he met Mr. Thakur, who went above and beyond to assist him.

Mr. Thakur guided Mr. Sayyed to the Nirmal Nagar police station, spoke to the officers there, and coordinated with SHO Shashan Parab, PSI Pasare, ASI Jadhav, and Bhogale to help retrieve his bag. Within a few hours, Zahid was reunited with his lost bag, and he expressed his gratitude to Mr. Thakur and the helpful officers at the Nirmal Nagar police station.

"I'm sincerely thankful to all and especially Mr. Sagar Thakur Sir (Railway Traffic Officer). Without him, I don't think I would have found my bag. I'm very impressed by his nature, and when I tried to offer him something as a goodwill gesture, he denied it, saying it was his duty," said Mr. Zahid Hussain Sayyed.

Mr. Thakur's selflessness and willingness to assist someone in need are commendable, and it's heartening to know that such kind-hearted officers exist within our police force.

It is a testament to the efforts put in by Mumbai Police and Traffic Police in selecting and training such dedicated officers who go above and beyond to serve the community. We appreciate their sincere efforts in maintaining law and order and keeping our city safe.
