"Oshiwara Police Crack Theft Case, Recover Rs 3.15 Lakh Worth of Stolen Mobiles"

In the early hours of June 26, 2024, a daring burglary shook a quiet Mumbai neighborhood. Mr. Shahid Mansoori was out with his family, leaving only his elderly father at home. The senior citizen, awaiting his family's return, left the front door open. At around 2:30 AM, he went to the bathroom, leaving the door ajar. Upon returning ten minutes later, he found the home's furniture in disarray and cupboards open. The intruders had seized the opportunity to steal Rs 80,000 in cash and two mobile phones.

The victim Mr Shahid Mansoori, visited Oshiwara police station to report the incident. On-spot duty officer Mr. Rahul Survashe has taken the complaint and immediately took action, seeing the seriousness of the matter. The case was forwarded to the Detention department for in-depth investigation.

Investigation and Breakthrough

The Oshiwara Police Station's investigation uncovered a more extensive criminal operation. Led by Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Patil, the team seized a total of 59 mobile phones, valued at approximately Rs 3,15,000. This cache included both stolen and other illicitly acquired devices, indicating a broader theft ring.

Key Officers and Operations

Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Patil played a pivotal role in cracking the case. Working off a tip from an undercover informant, Patil learned that the suspect, Isam, would be near the bridge in front of Mega Mall. He relayed this crucial information to Senior Police Officer Mohan Ji Patel, who then orchestrated a well-coordinated operation.

At approximately 2:40 PM, as the suspect approached the designated spot, the undercover informant identified him. The police, acting with precision and speed, surrounded and apprehended the suspect without incident. This efficient operation not only led to the recovery of 59 stolen mobile phones, including high-end models like iPhones but also shed light on the organized nature of the thefts.

Arrest of the Accused

The investigation culminated in the arrest of three individuals, all residents of Jogeshwari:

  1. Afzal Mushtaq Shah, Age 19

  2. Urmila Prakash Morya alias Pinky, Age 35

  3. Sabir Irfan Khan, Age 30

These arrests mark a significant victory for the Oshiwara Police and underscore their commitment to public safety. The successful recovery of Rs 3,15,000 worth of mobile phones within a single day highlights the efficiency and dedication of the police force. The case continues to develop as further investigations are conducted, with the police confident in unraveling the full extent of the criminal network involved.
